Ivory C. Williams, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 in Orlando, FL at the age of 82. He was born on July 31, 1934 in Saint Louis, MO to the late Elihue and Mildred Stewart Williams. Ivory was one of eleven children.
In his childhood his family moved to Chicago, IL where he spent most of his adolescence. At an early age Ivory developed a strong faith in God, under the care of his Godparents Elder Frank and Mother Hayden. Shortly after high school, Ivory enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.
Following his honorable service, he furthered his studies at Olive Harvey City College in Illinois, where he earned his Associate Degree in Language Arts. He later led a successful career with United Airlines where he worked for 35 years.
Ivory married Queenie Coleman in 1964 and together they raised three children. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He retired to Florida, where he enjoyed being a member of the American Legion Post 331.
Memories will be cherished by his beloved wife of 53 years, Queenie; children, Franc D., Marcia J. and Marc V. Williams; grandchildren, Michael Means, Isaiah and Destiny Williams; siblings, Alfred, Rosemary, Carolyn, Willie, and Cornell; and also many extended family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his brothers Jerome and Donald, and his sisters Betty, June and Brenda.
Visitation will be held from 12:30PM to 1:30PM on Saturday, July 15th at Risen Savior Lutheran Church, 1331 S. Alafaya Trail, Orlando, FL 32828 with a funeral service to follow at 1:30PM.
Interment will take place at 10:30AM on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, FL.
