In Loving Memory of Thomas Dale Smith Jr.

Thomas Dale Smith Jr, of Leesburg, FL, passed away on June 9, 2021 at the age of 51. Thomas was born to parents Thomas and Dianne Smith on June 14, 1969 in Belaire, Ohio. He was the second oldest of four children. Tom and his family moved around to several different states, including Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Jamestown, NY when he was young. Finally, his family settled in Orlando, FL in 1983 where he attended Jones High School and graduated with the class of 1987. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Army and served a tour in Augsburg, Germany. After the Army, Tom got a job in retail and had a long serving career for Walmart as a department manager. There, he met his now wife of 14 years, Melissa and got married to her in 2007.
Tom will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and sarcasm as well as love of friends and family. He was an avid lover of things like video games, comic books, and sci-fi. His love for characters such as Batman as well as video games will not be forgotten by his close friends and family. He also loved music and was particularly interested in old school hip-hop. Tom loved football and his favorite college football team the Ohio State Buckeyes.
He is survived by his wife Melissa Smith (Dillon) of Leesburg, FL, daughter Cecilia Dillon of Leesburg, FL, brother Walker (Rusty) Conner and his wife Debi Conner of Wheeling, WV, brother Gregory Smith and his wife Xiomara Smith of Kissimmee, FL, sister Becky Smith-Hernandez of Kennesaw, GA, mother-in-law Eloise McKinney and her husband Herb McKinney of Orlando, FL, one grandchild and lots of extended family including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in passing by his mother Dianne Smith in 1995 and his father Thomas Smith in 2007.
