Eduardo (Ed) Rafael Jimenez, 74, of Maitland, passed away of heart failure peacefully with his family at his side on August 22, 2023. He was a beloved father, husband, brother, grandfather (Papa) and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was born on December 20th, 1948, to Eduardo and Conchita Jimenez in Cuba, where he spent his formative years later moving to the United States in 1960.
In 1968 he met his wife Jennie in Puerto Rico; they were married in 1970 and soon after had three daughters. They moved to Florida and raised their girls in Winter Springs.
Ed loved cars and worked in the automobile industry selling cars and running a car dealership. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, knowledge of the industry, dedication, and passion for helping others, but more than anything, Dad was a devoted father. He loved taking his daughters boating, shopping, and doing spontaneous things like going for a 3am breakfast at Waffle House (many times). He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.
In his free time, Ed enjoyed boating and cars and was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. He was an avid boater retiring to live on his prized boat for many years. He was an expert at navigating the seas and loved to share stories of his adventures.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Jennie, his children, Jennie Collins, Gigi Wezel, Jacqueline Oliva, his brother Tony Jimenez and his eight grandchildren. Ed will be dearly missed by all who knew him, His memory cherished but his legacy will live on through his family, friends, and colleagues. Ed is predeceased by his parents and grandson Edward Jaycob Jimenez.
A memorial service will be held at Fellowship Church 5340 Red Bug Lake Rd. Winter Springs, Fl. 32708 on Saturday, September 9th at 1:00pm
