Marie A. Noble

February 14, 1934 — November 6, 2023

Marie Valentine Anderson Noble passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023. She entered this life on February 14,1934 in Richmond Hill, Georgia and would have been 90 this birthday. Her childhood was spent with her mother and father on the Henry Ford Plantation in Richmond Hill where both her mother and father worked until her mother's death when she was only 5 years old. Her father later married Birdie VanBrackle who quickly became Marie's loving friend and mother. She graduated from Savannah High in 1950 having taken accelerated courses to graduate early. After high school, she attended Marsh Business College in Atlanta GA. She graduated September of 1954 and earned a 2-year degree in business. She subsequently spent her career years working as a legal secretary.

Although she and her husband Bob both went to Savannah High at the same time, they didn't meet until after they graduated while singing in the church choir at Trinity United Methodist Church in the heart of Savannah, GA. They were married July 7th, 1957 and shortly thereafter Marie gave birth to two lovely children; Steven Wesley on September 5, 1961, followed by Robin Elizabeth on July 10, 1963. The family moved to California in 1965 where Marie enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother. These were beautiful years spent with her family visiting beaches, national parks and exploring the California coast.

In 1971, Bob and Marie moved the family to Orlando, Florida where they raised their children and explored their careers. Marie became a legal secretary, which included work with attorneys John Edward Jones and Keith Turner, until her retirement in her late 60s.

Bob and Marie carried on their love for each other as well as music in the choirs of the churches they attended while raising their two children in the United Methodist Church. Marie lent her talent as an accomplished pianist to the churches' choirs and Sunday Schools her entire life. She also found herself in the role of church secretary at many of her churches.

Later in life, Marie was the loving, devoted caretaker for her husband, Bob, as he struggled with the end stages of post polio syndrome. They were married and side by side for 66 years and are no doubt reunited again and sharing their love in the next life as well.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Robin Noble of Santa Fe, NM; and her niece Martha Harvey of Thomaston, GA. She was preceded in death not only by her parents, but also her husband, Bob Noble, who passed away just four months ago on July 18, 2023; her son, Steve Noble, March 1, 2012; and her sister Judson Leona, July 1, 1959.
