Abigail Castro

Abigail was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico in 1946 to Angel and Antonia Dones. Her family soon after, migrated to the Bronx, New York where she lived for some time until moving to Brooklyn where she was raised.

Abigail attended PS 27, Mark Hopkins PS 33 and Boys and Girls High School before entering the work force as an Administrative Assistant to the CEO of Cahners Publishing company in Manhattan New York. She then worked as an intake coordinator for a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in Far Rockaway NY before finally retiring.

Abigail met the love of her life, Manace Castro at church. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married on December 24, 1965.

Abigail and Manace couldn't wait to start a family of their own. They had four children: Ramon (deceased), Manace Kenneth, George, and Marisol. Abigail also has 9 grandsons.

Abigail will always be remembered for her joy. She was ready to sing and dance anytime. She kept her joy through the good and the bad. She lived life fully and loved deeply. She loved singing praises to the Lord and she is now singing in God's choir.

Abigail is survived by her children, Kenneth, George, Marisol, grandchildren, Joshua, Josiah, Elijah, Justin, Thomas, Julian, Rolando Jr., Joel, and Reynaldo as well as her siblings, Suni Dones, Hersom Dones, Ismari Dones, Simri Dones, and Deborah Muniz.
