Adam Wenger was the second child and only son born to Levi Martin Wenger and Rebecca Hoover Good in Allentown, Pennsylvania. His loving sisters are Bethanne Wenger Vaughan of Houston, TX, Mary Etta Cope of Lago Vista, Texas, Betty Jane Russo of Riverview, Florida, and his youngest sister, Lisa Wenger Caldaroni of Wilton, Connecticut. He leaves behind 8 nieces and nephews, who will hear stories of his adventures.
He graduated from Colonial High School in Orlando, Florida, class of 1977, and went to work in March of 1977 for the City of Orlando until May of 1988. His job involved working on computers on police cars as he loved to fix and tinker with engines.
His experience of a serious motorcycle accident in 1988 left him to struggle with blindness, on long term disability, and initially with caregivers in the home. Adam was fiercely independent and adapted, continuing to mow his own yard, cook in a crock pot, go waterskiing with his friends, and spent convalescence pumping iron.
He loved to work with plants, gardening with flowers, and creating landscapes and water fountains by hand.
He enjoyed socializing with his friends, Frank Florence and John Hollandsworth, who checked on him often and shared a meal; helping him explore Chipotle and Subway. Adam would visit with their families, but preferred to entertain in his home and looked forward to their visits, which were always good for a pizza and a cigar.
His interests took him to reading many books daily, speaking with his stockbroker, running a saw or engine, and made plans to remodel the backyard and den.
He would share his adventures of being out on the boat, or stuck sawing a giant tree that fell in the yard, or a discovery of orchids growing in the wooded flowerbeds.
Adam leaves behind a family who will miss him dearly but know he is truly at peace, walking in heaven, seeing its beauty with new eyes, having no pain, and motivating us to never give up. He never did.
"He was a damn good Wenger!"
