Adele Catherine Crosby "Trixie" Sauer

March 25, 1937 — May 22, 2024

Adele Catherine Crosby Sauer, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on May 22, 2024. She was known as Trixie to her friends, was born March 25, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA to Howard and Sophie Crosby.

She was raised from infancy by her grandparents, Earnest and Lena DuPuis, she really knew them as mother and father, they took her to West Babylon, NY where she spent her childhood, graduating from Babylon High School. In her senior year there, she met Richard (Dick) Sauer, whom she married shortly after high school graduation, the DuPuis’ insisting that she complete that education first. After a brief honeymoon they settled in Schenectady, NY. However, after only a few weeks, Dick was drafted into the army and that began a 25 year career in the military.

As an army wife, Trixie saw all of the United States, most of Europe, and parts of Asia. Dick retired from the Pentagon and he and Trixie spent the next twenty years in the Washington, DC area. Trixie studied at Capitol Bible Seminary and at the University of Georgia. She was very active in Christian ministry, including child evangelism, missionary activity, and churches wherever they were stationed. She taught Sunday School and Junior Church, and after receiving intensive training in Christian counseling, she spent many years helping many women, and some men, get into a right relationship with the Lord. She continued to teach two year olds through kindergarten for over 30 years and remained active in Christian work until serious physical disabilities prevented it in her old age.

As a hobby, Trixie was very active as an antique doll collector, she was a member of four different doll clubs, served as president of two of them and secretary of a third. Her collection was much admired by others who shared her love for dolls.

Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, Winter Garden on May 31, 2024, viewing at 10 AM, service at 11 AM.

She is survived by Dick, her husband of 67 years, son Ronald, daughter Cindy, and daughter Rebekah, along with five grandchild (a sixth preceded her in death) and three great-grandchildren. She was 87 years old at her passing.
