Agustin Caez Velez

January 29, 1927 — February 16, 2025

Orlando

It is with heartfelt remembrance and solace that we announce the passing of Agustin Caez Velez, who left us peacefully on February 16, 2025, at the age of 98.

Agustin, or Augie as he was better known by friends, left behind a woven tapestry of compassion, courage, and an enduring spirit. He lived a life that enriched every person that he countered, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and inspiration.

Born in Caguas, P.R. as one of 18 children to Fermin & Ana Velez, he most recently was living in Orlando, FL. Agustin was raised with strong values of community, kindness and strong work ethic. From his early days as a blue collar worker, his passion for furniture making earned him a reputation as a strong and hard worker and provider for his family. However, his military service in the United States Army Korean Veteran, was the hallmark of his remarkable journey and his proudest moment. He spent his later years and retirement enjoying his favorite pastime, dominoes. He had a love for animals - especially dogs. His fondest moments were from his youth, enjoying time with his grandfather, Valentin, and spending weekends with his grandparents.

Beyond his life's achievements, Agustin was a loving father of five children: the late Angel, Carmen, Agustin, the late Victor, and the late Jose; grandfather to Carmencita, Tito, Patricia, and Sean; great-grandfather to Angelina, Tyler, Kayley, Aidan, Anyssa, Anastasia; and a dear friend to many more. His home was a sanctuary of warmth, generosity and laughter. Whether it was through sharing favorite memories, offering sage advice, or simply listening with an open heart and a warm “Cafe con leche”. All those who knew him learned from him the importance of kindness, compassion, and honesty.

Today, as we celebrate Agustin's extraordinary life, we will remember his infectious smile, his witty humor, and the quiet strength that made him a beacon of hope in times of difficulty. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories that continue to warm our hearts.

Though we mourn the loss of a remarkable soul, we find comfort in knowing that Agustin Caez Velez’s light will forever shine in our hearts. A true testament to a life well-lived.
