Albert Thomas "Bert" Myre, age 88, of Casselberry, Florida passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at his home in Casselberry. He was the loving husband of Joyce Myre.
Bert was born on December 29, 1931 in Quincy, MA, son of the late Nathan Charles and Luella Ann (Burkhardt) Myre. From 1951 to 1952, he honorably served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. On January 21, 1956, he married the former Joyce Becker. Bert was a longtime Disney employee, working for over 20 years as an engineer before his retirement.
Bert is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Joyce; his daughter, Deborah Mattfeld and her husband, James, of Casselberry; his three sons, Thomas Albert Myre and his wife, Laura, of Casselberry, Donald P. Myre and his wife, Kimberly, of Daytona Beach, and Matthew Stephen Myre and his wife, Melissa, of Mars Hill, NC; twelve grandchildren, Tom Myre, Todd Myre, James Myre, Danny Myre, James Mattfeld, Jr., Jeffrey Mattfeld, Hollianne Myre, Matthew Myre, Misty Richards, Donald Myre, Christina Solt, and Brandy Rodrigues; and twenty-two great-grandchildren, Kylah Metzger, Savannah Mattfeld, Ethan Mattfeld, Dylan Mattfeld, Tommy Myre, Levi Myre, Violet Myre, Lexi Myre, TJ Myre, Cole Myre, Chelsea Flynn, Nick Flynn, Brooke Myre, Jamie Myre, Alex Myre, Nicholas Myre, Brad Richards, Jonathan Richards, William Wagner, Kekai Rodrigues, Kekoa Rodrigues, and Alanahea Rodrigues.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Deloy Myre, and Nathan Myre.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 8, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - South Seminole Chapel, 335 E State Rd 434, Longwood.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 375 Sunset Dr N, Casselberry, FL with Fr. Tomas Hurtado, officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
