Albert Paul Dupre, Sr.
Albert Paul Dupre, Sr., age 84, of Mims, Florida, died Friday evening, January 1, 2016, at Cornerstone Hospice of Orlando, surrounded by his family. Albert, affectionately known as "Big Al", was born in Port Arthur, Texas, on January 8, 1931, the son of the late Lester and Theresa Dupre.
For over 50 years, Albert was a refrigeration and air conditioning specialist, well known in the community. He never really retired, preferring to stay busy until the end.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 61 years, Betty Peveto Dupre, along with four children: Cynthia Dupre Benedict (Bill) of Longwood, Florida; Albert Paul Dupre Jr. (Pamela) of Mims, Florida; Robby Wayne Dupre of Casselberry, Florida; and Stephanie Dupre Williams (Ted) of Oviedo, Florida. Additionally, he is survived by two of three younger siblings: Frances Dupre, of Missouri, and Kathleen Bates, of Texas. Albert and Betty were blessed with 11 grandchildren: Leila Benedict Riggins, John W. Benedict III, Cathryn Benedict Ryan, Rylee Dupre, Tyler Dupre, Robby Dupre,Jr., Shannon Dupre Wells, Brittney Dupre Powell, Tori Johnson, Jenifer Huser, and John Huser; 16 great-grandchildren, and many other loving relatives.
Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 7th, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 335 East SR 434, Longwood, Florida 32750. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016, at 11:30 a.m., at the Church of God of Prophecy,2509 Elm Avenue, Sanford,Florida 32771, with Pastor Tom Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2116 Garden Street, Titusville, Florida 32796.
