It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alejandro Jose Ferrer Z, "Dr Al", on December 4, 2024.

Alejandro was born in Panama City, Panama to Alejandro Jose Ferrer Stanziola and Maria de Jesus Zapata on August 29, 1943.

After graduating with top honors from high school, he was awarded a scholarship to continue his education at the University of Florida in the agricultural sciences field.  He graduated Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1966.  He obtained his Master Degree in 1972 and a Doctorate PhD. Degree in 1974.

Alejandro was a beloved husband to the love of his life his wife Maria, of 60 years. He was a devout husband known for his strong will, unwavering determination and the love and support for his family. Alejandro has many titles in his life, but his favorite was being a father to Alex, Romina, and Jose Antonio.  He was always there for them whether helping or cheering them for their personal or academic accomplishments, offering support and encouragement.

Alejandro has a distinguished career in the agricultural field as a Plant Pathologist, where he made many contributions to the field. "Dr. Al" was known for his humor, and dedication to the Seminole County Master Gardener program where he revealed his vibrant personality and contributions to the community.  He balanced his life and was an active member of the Moose International Fraternity Ritual Team, and an active member of the Orlando Moose Lodge #766 and Sanford Moose Lodge #1851.

Alejandro will be dearly missed by family and friends.  He will live in our hearts forever.
