Alice Rebelo, age 80, of Orlando Florida passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Alice was born on August 03,1943 and raised in Jersey City, NJ. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dominick Ferreira Rebelo and Adele Rebelo, her brother John Ferreira, sister Mary Schultz, grandchild Nathaniel Newcombe, and her beloved Shitsu Toby.
Alice moved to Sparta, New Jersey after getting married and having her first child. She went on to have two more children and remained in the area for over three decades. Alice started as a part-time key punch operator at M&M Mars and worked her way up to upper management before retiring. She then moved to Florida to be close to her daughter and grandchildren. Alice was a volunteer for many years at Florida Hospital East as an admin in the volunteer office. She was also a very talented singer, singing in a church choir, with Voices of Valencia, and Central Florida Performing Arts Choir. One of her proudest moments, and a life-long dream come true, was when she sang at Carnegie Hall with a choir in 2011. Alice also loved to travel and has been to many countries in Europe, Africa, and South America. She belonged to the senior group in Stoneybrook East and where she made wonderful and lasting friendships.
Alice is survived by her children Janine Scapicchio, Richard and Eric (Cyndy) Newcombe. Grandchildren Michael (Yvonne) and Alaina Scapicchio, Madeline Newcombe. Great Grandchildren Ariella and Elliana.
Funeral service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home on Monday, March 4 at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St Jude Children Research Hospital which was Alice's favorite charity.
