Ryder, Almond Gage- Age 85, of Orlando, Florida , passed away Thursday, October 16, 2003.
Born in Harwich, Mass. Lapidary by trade. He served in the Special Forces during World War
II, Civilian Guard at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, ran Rock & Gem Shop in Manchester,
CT. Retired from United Technologies Corp.,Hartford, CT. At one time ran a clothing store in
Orlando on Colonial Drive. He then contracted gem stone repair until 1999. Former member of
Moose Lodge #766 and Belles & Beaus. Survivors include wife, Mitzi Scovic Ryder and her
children and grandchildren. Also brothers John, Josh, and William Ryder, and sisters, Marjorie
Hill, Tina Nickerson and Amy Zigler. His first wife Irene and son, Armond B. Ryder
predeceased him. A memorial service will be held 10:00a.m., Monday, October 20, at
Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando. In lieu of flowers,
contributions may be made to Belles & Beaus, for their community services, P.O. Box 532,
Orlando, Florida 32802. Expressions of sympathy & condolence may be sent to
