Alwyn "Al" McDonald was born on June 15, 1941, in Kingston, Jamaica to his parents, Leonie Nelson and Erik McDonald. He moved on to his final destination to meet up with his beloved dog, Stranger on August 13, 2021.
Al joined the United States Navy when he was 18 years old. During his Naval career he explored the world. While in the Navy he was on a Naval carrier and submarine. Al loved to talk about his navy days and "spying" off the coast of Russia.
Al worked for United Air Lines for 36 years retiring in 2002. He had a love for flying and sailing. He also had his own private plane license and found great enjoyment in taking is family and friends on flying trips. He also had a green thumb and especially loved to have lush green grass. He was a scissor hand man -precision grass cutter
Al loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Al leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Jessie McDonald. His children, Jeannette, Theresa, Anthony, Tamara, Raushamon, and Kareem. He also leaves behind a sister, Beverly. He was preceded in death by his mother & father, sister Delores, brother Winston, and his two children Alwyn Jr. and Raymond.
