Amparo Garcia Fernandez

Amparo G. Fernandez, age 87, of Orlando, went to be with our Lord and Savior on October 8, 2012 where she will have eternal peace. She was born in Oviedo, Spain and moved to Orlando in 1949. Amparo was a retired homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Manuel Garcia, also born in Oviedo, Spain; two step-sons, Manuel Garcia and Ruben Garcia and a brother, Lisardo Garcia. She is survived by her only son, Jose and his wife, Sharon Garcia. They have a daughter, Cindy Mae Garcia and son, Eric Manuel Garcia. Eric and his wife Cathy Garcia have a son, Austin Garcia and daughter, Hailey Lynn Garcia and live in Orlando. Amparo also has a step-daughter, Rose Strickland who lives in Orlando and has five children. She is also survived by four step-granddaughters; three sisters, Ramina, Margarita, and Heni, all who reside in Spain.

She is gone from our sights, but she will remain in our hearts and memories forever. We hold to our faith that we will see her again in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Visitation will be held from 2PM-5PM, Sunday, October 14 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Orlando. Funeral services will be held at 10AM, Monday, October 15 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Orlando. Interment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park, Winter Park.
