Andrew James "Jim" Jendrisak, 78, of Longwood, Florida passed away peacefully on October 7, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania and raised in Akron, Ohio where he attended St. Paul's Grade School and St. Vincent High School. He graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Master's degree in Chemistry. He also earned a degree in Pharmacy from Ohio State University.
He is survived by his sisters, Irene Iswarienko, Martha Penne, Loretta Smith, Marian Williams, and his brother, Ted Jendrisak.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Ann Jendrisak, and his brother, Dr. Thomas Jendrisak.
After moving to Florida in 1982, he worked as a Pharmacist at the Orlando Regional Hospital. Jim's hobbies included woodworking and playing the organ. Jim had a great sense of humor, enjoyed conversing in Spanish, baking delicious pies, eating out, having his family around, and being big brother to us all. He will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 131 N Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305.
The funeral mass will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 20, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St., Akron, OH 44301. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 100 E Waterloo Rd, Akron, OH 44319.
