Angel "Angie" J. Ortiz, Jr., 72 passed away on August 20, 2021 surrounded by family in Orlando. He was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico in 1949.
He was a graduate of Ludwigsburg American High School in Ludwigsburg, Germany and attended Cameron College (University) in Lawton, Oklahoma. Angel worked for North American Van Lines and travelled all over the U.S. From 1990-1994 he went to work for a company doing contract work for the Federal Government in Bolivia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was in the Reserves.
He attended schools in the following cities/countries while his Dad was serving in the military. Panama, Quincy (Massachusetts), Yauco (Puerto Rico), Altadena and Pasadena (California),Lawton (Oklahoma), Goeppingen (Germany), Ludwigsburg, (Germany), and Ft. Wayne (Indiana).
His dream was to own a corvette, but his health issues prevented him in accomplishing his dream.
Angel is preceded in death by his father, Angel J. Ortiz (2018) and his daughter, Nicole Ileana Ortiz.
He is survived by his loving mother, Elsa R. Ortiz, and his sister, Elsa Blasiman Betancourt (Daniel), of Orlando, daughter Michelle Alexi Pena (Marcello) of Bolivia, two grandchildren, Richelle and Santiago, as well as many cousins.
Angel appreciated all the love, support, and the caregiving by his mother, sister, and special Aunt Eva Martinez Zulueta.
Visitation will be at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando Chapel, 855 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando, FL on Friday, August 27, 2021, from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm. Funeral service at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Newcomer with Deacon Juan Cruz, officiating.
Entombment will follow at 3:00 pm with military honors at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park FL.
