Margaret "Ann" Kating was born in Orlando, Florida to Jonah and Viola Meeks. She spent most of her life, however, in Milledgeville, Georgia.
Ann is survived by her husband, Charles H. Kating, and three daughters, Karen, Kathy, and Connie, all of Longwood, Florida. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Travis, Shauna, and Jessica, and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jonah and Viola, and her siblings, Dalmah Simpkins, John L. Meeks, and Gene Meeks.
Ann worked as a waitress for many years and then became a school bus monitor for Seminole County Schools for many years. Ann and Charles were married for 65+ years. She always said he was a keeper!
Ann loved her family and always welcomed young and old people into her home. Her daughters' friends were always welcomed into their home. Ann loved to dance, go to the beach, camping, and fishing. They often took their grandkids shrimping in their motor home. And boy did she love bingo!
Ann was truly an angel to all that knew her and loved life. She fought cancer since 2013 and on November 23, 2017, she lost the battle but won her way to heaven. She most definitely won the victory to heaven to again be reunited with her family that went before she did.
She will definitely be missed by many, especially her husband, her daughters, and her grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2017. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm. Interment at Longwood Memorial Gardens will follow.
