Anne M. Green (nee Kee) was born 5 April, 1931 in South Bend, Indiana to Choy Pak and Hui Shee Kee, the first of nine children. Anne and her family were converts to Catholicism. She graduated from St. John's Long Island City Hospital School of Nursing in New York on a Florist Telegraph Delivery (FTD) scholarship. She received a B.S. with a Health Care Certificate from St. Francis College and a M.S. from Long Island University, both in Brooklyn, New York. Anne was the widow of Frederick W. Green, who retired from the U.S. Army after 28 years as an Explosive Army Ordinance Specialist in the Bomb Squad.
Anne worked as an R.N. at St. John's Long Island City Hospital, Coney Island Hospital, Brooklyn VA Hospital, the latter two being in Brooklyn, NY and overseas in Verona, Italy (as a volunteer school nurse) and as a staff nurse in Vicenza, Italy. Anne retired from Ainsworth USA Health Clinic at Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn, New York. Following retirement, she relocated with her spouse to West Yarmouth, MA where she worked at the Cape Cod Hospital Extended Care Facility, Mayflower Retirement Center and as a Parish Nurse at St. Pius R.C. Church in South Yarmouth where she also served as a Lector, Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister to the Sick and a volunteer with their Flea Markets and Habitat for Humanity and also at St. Anne's Hospital. Anne was also a member of the Cape Islands Catholic Nurses, Healthcare Professionals of the Divine Mercy, National Assn. of Catholic Nurses and RNR (Registered Retired Nurses of Florida).
After her devoted husband's passing, Anne relocated to Orlando, FL where she worked at Sunbelt Nursing & Rehab Nursing Center, Vitas Hospice as a Palliative Care Liaison, Hospice of the Comforter as an Admission Nurse, Dr. Diebel, Jr. Memorial Shepherd's Hope Health Center as a RN Volunteer and at Faith Assembly Church with her Distinguished Therapy Dog, Sierra-Morgan (a Cocker Spaniel). At St. Isaac's Church she served as Lector, Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister, Eucharistic Minister to the Sick and many other ministries, and for the Election Board.
Anne loved caring, getting involved and sharing her love with anyone she met. She is predeceased by her dear niece Donna P. Lin (CT), brother Charles S. Kee and sisters Josephine D. Quan and Genevieve T. Lo (NY). She is survived by her loving sister, Elsie T. Lin (CT), Mabel H. Chin (NY), Mary A. Eng (VA), her dear brothers George W. Kee (FL) and Harry E. Kee (NY), dear godchildren Maria A. Quan and Hong Chin, many loving nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, many devoted friends and her precious Paws for Friendship Therapy Dog, Sierra-Morgan.
Our beloved Anne left this world on Sunday, February 14, 2016.
Visitation is Friday February 19, 2016 from 5pm to 9pm at Newcomer Funeral Home: 895 S. Goldenrod Rd., Orlando, FL 32822.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 20, 2016 starting 2pm with viewing staring at 1pm before the Mass and will be led by Reverend Pedro Zapata at St. Isaac Jogues R.C. Church: 4301 S. Chickasaw Tr., Orlando, FL 32829
Inurnment: St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY
Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. Edmund's R.C. Church, Brooklyn, NY
