Armando Rolon

July 27, 1951 — January 26, 2020

Armando Rolon, age 68, of Orlando, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Advent Health East Orlando Hospital. He was the loving husband of Joann Rolon.

Armando was born on July 27, 1951, son of the late Armando Rolon, Sr. and Margarita Fontanez Perez.

Armando was a devout Christian and Catholic man. His love for God was great. He greatly believed in the power of prayer, in helping one another, and loving people. Andy was very involved with the church: volunteering his time for various functions and for retreats, as well as playing the bass guitar for the church choir for many years.

Andy was devoted to his job as well. Work played a huge part in his life. He worked at Goldstar Machine and Tool for about 30 years, starting off as a Quality Control Inspector, and worked his way up to Machinist, up to Co-Running the business. When Goldstar closed down, Andy had an opportunity to help his boss, Bill, start up a company branch of Ashland Technologies, Inc., here in Orlando. He worked there as the Screw Machine Division Manager until the week before he passed.

Armando was a lover of sports. He loved all different types, but basketball was his favorite. He was even a season pass holder for many years. His team was always the Magic.

His greatest passion was his family. Everything that he did and he was, was for his family. Not only was he a loving husband, but he was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and son. He was best known by Mando, hunny, daddy, papi, pops, grandpa, grampy, Mandito, and Andy, to those who love him.

Armando is survived by his loving wife and companion of 38 years, Joann; his two daughters, Michelle Romero, and Kristie Figueroa and her husband, Josue, both of Orlando; his nine grandchildren, Angela Boswell, Esther Hernandez, Joann Hernandez, Yazmine Figueroa, Jose Hernandez, Jada Figueroa, Kaleb Figueroa, Christian Figueroa, and Isaiah Figueroa; and his sister, Rosa M. Rolon of Orlando.
