Meehan, Arthur T.- Of Orlando, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 after suffering from pneumonia. He was born on October 16, 1924 in Ottawa, Ont. Canada. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII as a tail-gunner over the skies of France and Great-Britain. After the war, he married Beatrice St. Jean, also of Ottawa. Together they moved to Windsor, Ontario and started their wonderful family of 9 children.
In 1969, they moved to Central Florida. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Beatrice, and daughter Donna Renner Morgan. He is survived by, brother, Lindsay, of St. Petersburg, FL and by his children- Arthur R. Meehan of Belle River, Ontario, Wayne of Apopka, Sharon (Adams) of Clermont, Michael of St. Cloud, Robert of Ocoee, Lorraine (Pirino) of Orlando, Brian of Jacksonville, and John of Orlando. He was also blessed by having 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews here in Florida and Canada. Being of Irish descent, he was a devoted Roman Catholic, who always stressed the importance of God's Ten Commandments, and he was never shy to reveal his devotion to Mary- The Blessed Virgin Mother of Our Lord, Jesus.
A viewing will be held at this evening (Friday) from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando. A Mass of The Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 30, 2005 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1501 Alafaya Trail, Orlando.
