Arthur Budd Wilson, age 81, of Sanford, Florida passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023 in Sanford.
Buddie was born on January 11, 1942 in Renford, WV, son to his late parents Bedford Ray and Nanthnanis Ellen (Cavender) Wilson. After his parents passed when he was very young, he was raised by his aunt and uncle, Buzz and Opal Dearien. On February 11, 2005, he married his wife, Shirley.
Buddie was a graduate of Duport High School, WV, class of 1960. He honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army, serving in the 101st Airborne. Buddie worked in the West Virginia coal mines, and later was a truck driver before his retirement. He was a member of the Church at Heathrow. Buddie enjoyed fishing and playing guitar. He was also a singer, something him and Shirley enjoyed together at the church. He deeply loved the Lord, and being with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 18 years, Shirley Wilson of Sanford; two sons, Rocky Wilson of Los Angeles, CA, and David Swaggerty and his wife,Kim, of Largo, FL; three daughters, Annette Gil and her husband, Louis, of Los Angeles, Angela Carter and her husband, Mark, of Longwood, Joy Boutwell and her husband, Travies, of Mims, FL; fourteen grandchildren, Christopher, Frankie, Brandon, Amanda, Toby, Matthew, Samantha, Kevin, Mary, Victoria, Collin, Michael, Eric, and Serena; six great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Randy Wilson and his wife, Shirley, Bill Wilson, and Robert Dearien and his wife, Brenda, all of Charleston, WV.
Buddie was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Vernice Chaney; and two grandchildren, Travis Valdez, and Travis Boutwell.
Visitation is Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – South Seminole Chapel, 335 E. State Road 434, Longwood, FL 32750.
Interment and Graveside Services will be on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Sylvan Lake Cemetery, 5300 Wayside Dr, Sanford, Florida 32771 with Pastor Ward Hodges officiating.
