Ashley was a native Floridian, born at ORMC on September 10, 1979. She passed away at her home in Osteen, Florida on the morning of January 9, 2016 surrounded by her family. She died after a long battle with complications from severe kidney disease.
She was the middle child of Rory and Diane Evans of Winter Springs, Florida. Despite being legally blind since birth, Ashley lived a full life. She graduated from Oviedo High School in 1999 and as a senior was chosen by her teachers to receive the Disney Dreamers and Doers Award. She completed an Associate's Degree at Seminole Community College.
An accomplished equestrian she won several cutting competitions on her beloved horse "Sug." She was a country girl who loved her farm, her dogs and her horses. Above all, she loved her family and extended families especially her "Kimmie" who was her oldest sister, caregiver, companion and best friend.
She received world class medical care at Florida Hospital South and at Orlando Health. We are so grateful to the many doctors and nurses who treated her with such compassion over the years, especially her nephrologists at both hospitals and the transplant team at Florida South.
We are extremely grateful to the mother who donated her daughter's kidney many years ago so Ashley could live. She honored that sacrifice every day by living an exemplary lifestyle.
While her physical presence will be missed, she will remain with us forever through the memories of her time with us. She will join her sister, Lisa, in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ, for the rest of eternity.
She is survived by her parents, her sisters, Kim and Amanda and her brother, Rory Jr., numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, friends and animals.
Her funeral services will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 3 p.m. at St. Stephens Catholic Church 575 Tuskawilla Road Winter Springs, FL 32708 officiated by Father John Bluett. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ashley's name to the Florida Hospital Transplant Institute.
