Audrey L. Douglas
February 6, 1929 — July 23, 2021
Audrey Douglas, age 92, of Saint Cloud, Florida passed away peacefully on Friday, July 23, 2021.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James C. Douglas, and parents, James and Mary Edna Kirkland.
She is survived by her son, Danny C. Douglas (Sheri), daughter, Debbie Dermid (Aaron), and son, Gary. She had three grandchildren, Shannon Dermid, Diana Kennedy (Johnny), and Sarah Martin (Daniel). She also had six great grandchildren, Mariah, Trenton, JJ, Karly, William, and Thomas.
Audrey was an Airforce wife and adored her husband, James (Jake). They were happily married for over 60 years on this side of heaven. Audrey has been a resident of several places as a military wife, but eventually her family settled in the Greater Orlando area. She loved keeping her hands busy with crocheting, cross stitch, and other crafts. Both her and her husband had an expansive garden through the years and it's something she kept up after the death of her beloved husband in 2006.
For the last 15 years Audrey has been a resident of Saint Cloud, FL with her youngest son Gary.
On most days you could find Audrey in her yard planting flowers, pulling weeds, or daydreaming about how to make her yard more beautiful than it already was.
Audrey will be remembered by her family and friends as a strong woman. She never met a person she could not feed and loved trying new recipes and hosting her family at her home. She will be missed greatly, but her legacy will continue on in the many lives of those she loved.
The family will have a graveside service at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on Tuesday July 27th at 1:30PM.
