Barbara Ann Maroney Ashcraft, 82, of Oviedo, Florida, passed away on May 1, 2024 in Orlando, FL.
Barbara was born on August 6, 1941, to Thomas Arthur and Mary Bell Maroney of Rison, Arkansas. Her family moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas, when she was a teenager. In 1959, she graduated from Watson Chapel High School and went on to work for Red Line Freight Company.
In 1962, Barbara married her high school sweetheart, Harvey Ashcraft. They had two children, Scott and Tina. They moved to Englewood, Florida, in 1978, where they opened their business, Englewood Muffler Center. In addition to helping her husband run their family business, Barbara was also a licensed real estate agent.
In 1992, Barbara moved to Ocala, Florida, where she was employed by Publix and enjoyed a 20 year career with the company. She later moved to Oviedo, Florida, and worked at the Addition Arena on the UCF campus.
Barbara’s hobbies included scrapbooking, card-making, crafting, and floral design. Her greatest passions in life were her faith and her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents T.A. and Mary Maroney, her husband, Harvey Ashcraft, and her sister, Wanda Holland. She is survived by son, Scott (Dana) Ashcraft, daughter Tina (Greg) Seiple, brother Wayne Maroney, and four grandchildren, Rowyne Ashcraft, Joshua Ashcraft, Austin Seiple, and Jared Seiple.
A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church, 1720 Lake Margaret Dr., Orlando, FL 32806.
