Barbara A. Walters

Barbara (Byard) Walters (February 26, 1936), 82, has returned home to be with the Lord after losing her battle with cancer on August 5, 2018. Barbara served others with over fifty years of nursing as an RN in West Virginia, New Jersey, and Florida. She was a member of the Tuskawilla Presbyterian Church where she served as both a Deacon and Elder leading the worship and education committees. She was a member of the choir, taught Sunday school, and dedicated much of her time to the Church in both WV and Florida. Caring for her orchids and roses was another source of joy and comfort. Barbara is survived by her husband, (Loren) Dwight Walters of Orlando, Florida originally from Weirton, WV; two daughters, Michele (Walters) Erickson and Beth Lynn Walters and Kari Roderick, and one son-in-law, Scott C. Erickson. The highlight of her life were her three grandchildren, Matthew S. Erickson and his wife Cara (McBean) Erickson of Viera, Florida, Chad L. Erickson and Britney L. Erickson both of Orlando, and her three great-grandchildren Quinn Erickson, Trent Erickson, and Michael Woodburn who knew and loved her as GG. Barbara's sister, Linda (Byard) Deveny, husband James Deveny, daughter Nancy and two grandchildren T.J. and Abigail reside in Ocala, Fl. Linda's son, Brooks, his wife, Jill, and her grandchildren Cody and Dacey reside in Georgia. A celebration of life memorial service will be held Saturday, August 18, 10:00 a.m. at the Tuskawilla Presbyterian Church. Friends and family are invited to attend the service, and the family asks for donations in lieu of flowers be sent to Orlando Health Cancer Center at OrlandoHealthCancer.com.
