Benjamin "Ben" Owens, Jr. age 54 of Davenport, Florida passed away on December 26, 2022. He was born in Hendersonville, NC on November 5, 1968.
Ben graduated from Granite Hills High School in El Cajon, CA. He worked for Buck Knives in El Cajon, CA and Post Falls, ID for 15 years in the knife assembly area. Upon moving to Florida, Ben worked for Walt Disney World as a Steward Coordinator for the past 10 years. Ben was a volunteer fire fighter in North Carolina and Wisconsin for many years.
Ben enjoyed bowling. He also liked to design things and then actually build them. He had a very curious nature and a smile that would light up a room. He loved being with his family and his children were the joy of his life. He had a great sense of humor and always had a joke.
Ben married Hilary Starke on April 5, 2003. They were close to celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary,
Ben is survived by his loving wife, Hilary; his children: Benjamin, Katherine and Roberta; his parents: Sheila and Bill Halderman; his mother-in-law, Katherine Bybee; his sister and brother-in-law, Katherine and Thomas Chase; his nephew, Ryan Chase; his aunts: June Jamison, Judy Morrison, Desiree Head, Mary Jane Izokovic and Nancy Glenn; and several cousins and many friends.
Ben was preceded in death by his grandparents, several aunts and uncles and his cousin, April Jamison.
At this time, services will be private for his family only.
