Mr. Bernard Stephen Wisthoff, 56 of Orlando, Florida passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2011. He was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland to Reuben "Mike" Wisthoff and Rose Alexander Wisthoff. He graduated from Virginia Tech University on a ROTC Scholarship. He later earned a Masters Degree from the University of West Florida. He served in the United States Army and retired with the rank of Major. After retiring from the Army, he worked the past 15 years as a Systems Analyst for Rolands and Associates. Church was very important to him; he was very active in AWANA and Childrens Ministries in Liberty Baptist Church in Hampton, Virginia as well as Avalon Church and his home church, Orlando Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida. He was fondly known as "Mr. Bernie."
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Wisthoff; daughter, Marcie Wisthoff; son, Benjamin Wisthoff; parents, Rueben "Mike" Wisthoff and Rose Wisthoff; sister, Clare Wisthoff; brother, Michael Wisthoff; sister, Karen Airey; sister, Frances Zile and sister, Rita Ito. He is also survived by father-in-law, Bennie Jackson and mother-in-law, Jean Jackson; sister-in-law, Zelda Jackson.
