Bernard T. Lynch

Lynch, Bernard "Benny"- Age 62, passed away on March 9, 2005 in Longwood, Florida surrounded by his family. Benny was born on July 6, 1942 in Dublin, Ireland to Michael and Margaret Lynch who both preceded him in death. He is survived by Elizabeth Lorenz; his children, Ciara Lynch and Kevin Lynch of Longwood and Craig Lynch and Cathy Lynch Henderson of Toronto, Canada; his brothers, Michael of Canada, Joseph, John, Patrick and Stephen of Ireland; his sisters, Peggy and Kathleen of Ireland and Alice, Rita and Ann of England, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church.
After emigrating from Ireland, Benny made his home primarily in Toronto, Canada and Chicago, Illinois before moving to Central Florida in 1990. Benny was a musician who sang and played his way across Ireland, Canada and the United States. He was a vocalist and played the bass guitar and bodhran as well. He won his first talent contest as a teenager singing an Elvis Presley tune. While he enjoyed many types of music, he was at his best when performing the traditional folksongs of Ireland. He will be remembered and missed by many who enjoyed his beautiful voice and entertainer's wit.
There will be a vigil service and visitation on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the chapel at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 17, 2005 in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 861 Maitland Avenue, Altamonte Springs. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Apopka. Arrangements are being handled by Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando, FL 32822, 407-277-4227.
