**Berta Elisa Rincón De Alvarez**, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a guiding light for all who had the privilege of knowing her. Passed away on August 16th, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Berta was born on February 2nd, 1933, in  Maracaibo, Venezuela, to Cila Rosa Rincon and Angel Bermudez. Though she didn’t graduate from high school in 1949, Berta went on to become a dedicated elementary school teacher, remembered by her students and peers as an incredible and remarkable educator.

In the 1950s, Berta also took on the role of a secretary at the well-known *Panorama* newspaper in Maracaibo. On December 15th, 1951, she married the love of her life, Arnoldo Alvarez, with whom she shared many beautiful years before his passing. Together, they had six children, Arelis Alvarez, Arnoldo Jr. Alvarez, Alexander Alvarez, Arelinda Alvarez, Aricelis Alvarez, and Joesfina Alvarez.

In 2019, Berta moved to Orlando, Florida, to be closer to her daughter, Aricelis Alvarez, and her family. Just as they did when living in Venezuela, spending great amounts of time together, creating beautiful memories filled with love and laughter. Berta often traveled back and forth, ensuring that the strong bond she shared with her daughter and her family remained unbroken. Throughout this time, David Acuna Lopez, Berta’s son-in-law, played a huge role in her life, providing support, love, and care that brought her much comfort and joy in her later years. The deep connection she shared with David, Aricelis, her four grandchildren David Gerado, David Julio, David Daniel, Daviana Beatriz Acuna and her four great-grandchildren David Sebastian Acuna, David Alexander DeBique Acuna, David Alejandro Acuna and David Mateo DeBique Acuna was a source of immense happiness for her.

Berta’s faith in God was an unwavering source of strength throughout her life. After moving to Orlando, she became a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, where she found peace and community within its walls. Her faith guided her in all things, and it was a foundation upon which she built her life.

Berta had many passions throughout her life. She loved to dance and often competed in dance competitions in her early adulthood. Gardening was another of her great loves—her garden flourished with pink and white roses, and she was excited to soon add yellow roses to her collection. Berta adored any plant that bloomed and thrived under her care.

Her strength was legendary, even in her later years, where she was often described as "like a cannon" for her resilience and spirit. Her warmth, love, and infectious laughter lit up any room she entered. Berta was truly an extraordinary woman, a guardian angel on earth who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
