Beryl Ivey Ferlazzo, age 92, Beryl was born in Cambridge, England to Phyllis and George Anderson on June 28, 1928, she passed peacefully, Tuesday, July 21, 2020.
Beryl married Joseph Ferlazzo, September 4, 1948 and they had a son, Nathan, who of course was the Love of Berly's Life. Beryl became a grandmother, (Nana??) with a grandson, Matthew, and a granddaughter, Eryn. Both her grandchildren were the light in her eyes and the joy in her heart. Beryl was an awe-inspiring, artistic baker. She put her personal touch of love into every delectable delight. Beryl was a wonderful seamstress, making Eryn precious clothes, by hand mostly. Beryl had a love for baseball, her favorite team was the Atlanta Braves, she was such a big fan.
Her love lives on…
The following verses by: Henry Scott-Holland (1847-1918) was found by Nathan, in her personal belongings at her home in Winter Park Fl. Beryl had written it down years ago, as of the last years she lived, sadly had become blind and unable to use her hands.
Death Is Nothing At All
Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity nor sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just round the corner.
All is well.
Henry Scott Holland
