Betty J. Knight, age 64 of Orlando, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. She was born on December 17, 1946 in Hulen, Kentucky to Robert King and Doshie Ayers. She was an active member of Eastland Baptist Church in Orlando. She was an artist, a mother, a grandmother, and was known for the beautiful quilts and blankets she made.
Betty earned her BA in Art from UCF in Florida. She enjoyed painting, sketching, and photography, and had many other hobbies. She enjoyed sports especially watching and rooting for her favorite basketball team, Duke.
Betty was Preceded in death by both of her parents, her sister Helen Elliot, and nearly mother Nellie England.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Adrian Leon Knight Sr., Four children, Zella and husband Daniel, Adrian and wife Tina, Betty and husband Robert, and Hendrik, and nine grandchildren, Bethany and Josie Unger, Makala, Wade, Dayton, and Justin Knight, James, Andrew, and Joshua Hawes, four sisters; Shirley Burchfield, Hazel Swartz, Minnie Gail Wright, Mabel, three brothers; Louis, David, and Larry Pridemore, and many other family and friends. The world has lost a beautiful light. Betty was loved by all who knew her.
