Betty G. Sheppard, 81, of Orlando, departed this life and graciously entered the open arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 13, 2016.
She was born August 16, 1935, in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of late Clinton and Nellie (Cross) Wooten. She was one of seven children. Betty was raised on her family's farm and at a young age learned the skills that would later take her to a career with T.G. Lee Dairy. Betty spent her working career with T.G. Lee eventually as a machine operator filling school milk cartons until she retired in 1994.
Betty married the love of her life, Lewis Sheppard and together they raised three daughters. She will be remembered for teaching the importance of a good work ethic and the values of a strong family unit.
She was a member of the Shenandoah Baptist Church in Orlando, FL where she happily volunteered and assisted with Sunday school amongst other activities. Betty was a faithful woman who truly appreciated the gift of life and spreading the word of the gospel. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
She leaves memories to be cherished by her daughters, Sharon Galipeau (Bobby), Linda Womble (Bill), and Sandy Willis (Ronald Powers); sister, Carolyn Whitworth; grandchild, Melissa, Steven, Shannon, Jason, Scott E., and E. Scott; and 12 adoring great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis in 1994.
The family will receive friends from 10AM to 11AM on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home in Orlando with a funeral service to follow at 11AM. Interment will be held at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Orlando.
