Betty Jean Williams, 91, went home to her Heavenly Father on October 4, 2023.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Floyd Williams, and her grandson, Christopher Broome. She is survived by sons Ronald Broome and Larry Broome, daughters Deborah (Debi) Whisenant, Donna Wolters, and Darlene Adams, seven loving grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and her sister Norma Copeland. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Betty was born in Ocoee, Florida in 1932, and lived in Orlando for the majority of her life, until relocating to Satellite Beach in 2021. She worked as a quality assurance manager until 1986, when she retired to travel the United States in their RV. Betty enjoyed cooking, reading, doing Bible studies, dancing, old movies, spending time with her family, and telling stories. She always shared Jesus with those she talked to ("let me tell you about my Jesus") and was fiercely loyal to those she loved. In a time where women were not meant to be in charge, Betty was a force to be reckoned with. She modeled and instilled strength, resilience, and determination in her children and grandchildren, passing on a legacy of leadership.
Until we see her again, it is a comfort to know that she is with her Jesus and dancing the streets of Heaven with her beloved husband.
