Bienvenido Gonzalez, 86 of Orlando passed away Thursday, April 19, 2007 at his residence. Born in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, he moved to Central Florida in 2006 from Brooklyn, New York. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retired Porter with Weiss and Son in Washington Square Village in New York.
He is survived by his wife, Maria I. Gonzalez of Orlando; daughters, Luz Gonzalez of Connecticut, Digna Padilla of Orlando, Ana Cruz of Orlando, Migdalia Gonzalez of Orlando, Magda Mercado Campos of Orlando, Mildred Mejia of Massachusetts; sons, Bienvenido Gonzalez Jr. of Davenport, FL and Wilfred Gonzalez of Davenport, FL and daughter, Sandra Jackson of New York; 25 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 in the Chapel of Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando. Interment with full Military Honors will be held at 1:30 PM at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5:00-9:00 PM.
