Billy Levern Cooper, of Orlando, FL, passed away on April 15, 2024.
He was born in Spanish Fort, AL on October 1, 1946.
Billy graduated from Fairhope High School; studied Management at Troy University; earned his Master's degree from George College & State University.
He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and retired as Senior Master Sergent.
After the Air Force Billy took a job with Northrop Corp for a few years. He then moved to Huntsville, AL to work for GE Aerospace. Through acquisitions and mergers GE Aerospace became Lockheed Martin. Billy retired with Lockheed Martin in Orlando, FL at the age of 60. After that Billy was not ready to quit working and in his spare time, he worked numerous engineering consultant jobs.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elder and Edna Cooper of Spanish Fort, AL
He is survived by his wife Sheryl Cooper of Orlando; brother, Mitchel Cooper of AL; Diane Paustian of AL; his children: Teresa (Duane) Langlie, Karen Cooper, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Billy and Sheryl met in Tacoma, WA in 1974 while he was in the service. Billy was a loving husband and father, very devoted to family. He always provided for their needs and with guidance and leadership of the family. He was a good neighbor to all and always willing to help anyone in need. He put other people first, was a good listener and problem solver.
A private burial will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery with military Honors.
