Billy Gene Jarvie, 71 of Sanford, FL passed away on Jan. 4, 2021 at his home after a short battle with cancer. Billy was born on Sept. 3, 1949 in Galion, Ohio and was the son of Albertis and Helen (Foust) Jarvie who preceded him in death. Billy moved to Florida in the early 1980's and married, Terri Jarvie, who survives. He was also preceded in death by his son, John Robert Jarvie in November of 2015 and his brothers-in-law, Doug O'Keefe and Robert Howington.
Bill is a graduate of Galion High School and served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1967 until June of 1969 when he was honorably discharged after having been wounded in combat in Vietnam. Bill earned the National Defense Service Metal; Vietnam Service Metal and Purple Heart. Billy was a sheet metal fabricator throughout his life finally retiring from UniPac Corp. in Longwood in 2011. Billy spent his retirement enjoying sitting on his veranda. He enjoyed people watching, feeding the neighborhood cats and spending time with family.
In addition to his wife, Billy is survived by his sister, Bonnie Howington of Sanford; brother-in-law, Jeff (Nancy) O'Keefe of Winter Springs; sister-in-law, Joanne O'Keefe of Orlando; His children, Jessie Nord of Wachula, Fl; Larry Lucier of Deland; Krissy Papa of Orange City; Pam Maniac of Debary and Rachael Weigel of Baltimore, Maryland; and grandchildren Carter, Elizabeth, Dylan, John David, Gracie, Jack, Scotty and Tristin. Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
