Billy Gene Lamb, of Orlando, Fl., passed away peacefully at home Sunday morning, March 14, 2004. He was born to Eula and Charley Lamb on September 10, 1932 in Daleville, Alabama. Billy was the last survivor of five boys. He was employed by the United States Department of Agriculture for 38 years. He will be remembered for his dry wit, his love of athletics, his perseverance and his compassionate love for family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Lamb of Orlando, four daughters; Kimberly Lamb of Orlando, Beverly Hogan of Nevada, Lorily York of New Hampshire, and Deborah Magruder of Winter Park, and five grandchildren; Billy and Jessica Hogan, Clinton and Rachel York, and Douglas Magruder Jr. He was preceded in death by his son, David Bradshaw Lamb. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, March 18, from 6pm to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at 3pm on Friday, March 19, at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd. Orlando. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vitas Hospice at 5151 Adanson Street, Suite 200, Orlando, Fl 32804.
