Billy Ray McCullers, 85, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2020 at his home in Christmas ,Florida following a long decline in health. Billy will be missed by his loving family and friends.
He was a generous man, helping all he touched while keeping us all laughing with his sense of humor. Billy was born on July 30, 1935 in Tampa, Florida to Jimmie Green and William Taylor McCullers. He was raised with 9 siblings in the Christian faith. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the US Navy and was honorably discharged after 23 years of service as a chief torpedo man. Despite being disabled, he raised a daughter and enjoyed yard work and traveling. He was a member of American Legion Post 242 and the DAV.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings. Surviving family includes a wife of 11 years, Janis; a sister, Irma Northrop (Lee); one daughter, Christina Marie Brownworth, (Robert); one granddaughter, Anna Marie Brownworth; 6 step daughters, 2 step sons, and 13 step grandchildren.
Interment will be at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims on December 2, 2020 at, 2:30 PM. Please arrive 30 minutes early.
