Blythe Beverly Reynolds Smith
1935 — 2024
Longtime Sanford resident Blythe Smith, 89, transitioned to her forever home on Thursday, September 5, 2024 to be with her mom and dad Dwight and Evelyn Reynolds, a sister Marilyn Wall, a great grandson Jace Jachimski and shopping/vacation partner, sister-in-law Barbara Smith.
Blythe was born March 19, 1935 in Metamora, Indiana, to Dwight and Evelyn Wise Reynolds and graduated from New Salem (Indiana) High School.
Blythe married her husband of 69 years, Dean Wendell Smith, on April 9, 1955, in New Salem Methodist Church.
After getting tired of snow and cold weather, Blythe and Dean moved to Sanford in June 1967 from Valparaiso, Indiana, along with their children ; Dean L., Robert, Trent (Terry) and Cheryl and two dogs Midnight and King and had lived on the west side of Sanford for 57 years.
Blythe was a bookeeper @ JC Penney, Valparaiso, Indiana, H.L. Hunt Company, Sanford, Florida, and Chelsea Title and Guarantee Company, Sanford, Florida, before becoming the longtime bookkeeper at Lakeview Middle School, Sanford, Florida; and Greenwood Lakes Middle School, Lake Mary before retiring in 2000.
Blythe is survived by her husband and four children; Dean L. (Sharon) Smith, Sanford; Robert Smith, Sanford; Trent (Kimberlee) Smith, Kennesaw, Georgia; Cheryl (Bruce) Danilla, Sanford, as well as brothers Larry (Elena) Reynolds, Aurora, Colorado and Robert (Dianne) Reynolds, Connersville, Indiana.
She had eight (8) Grandchildren ; Debbie (James) Jachimski, Comer, Georgia; Donnie (Sharon) Hinson, Spartanburg, South Carolina; Danielle (Elielo Torres) Danilla, Winter Park; Nicholas Danilla, Sanford; Amber (Will) Kraft, DeBary; Josh Smith, Kennesaw, Georgia; Caleb (Maddy) Smith, Kennesaw, Georgia; Mariah (Yury) Panasyuk, Marietta, Georgia , 13 Great-Grandchildren and three (3) Great-Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in Death by Dwight Reynolds (Father), Evelyn Reynolds (Mother), Marilyn Wall (Sister) and Jace Jachimski (Great Grandson).
She loved her family, cats, baseball, fishing and going to the Casino in either Las Vegas or Tampa.
A memorial service will be planned in the future.
