Bobby Glenn Bunn

September 17, 1934 — October 31, 2016

Bobby Glenn "Bob" Bunn

Bobby Glenn Bunn, 82, went into the arms of Jesus, on Monday, October 31, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Zebulon, N.C., in 1934 to the late Clyde W. Bunn and Bettie Pearl Batten Bunn.

After high school, Bobby joined the Navy and trained as a Hospital Corpsman. He was assigned to the Marines where he served on the battlefields of Korea for several years.

Bobby's hobby was flying and he was a Certified Flight Instructor who took pride in teaching students to love flying as he did. He taught out of Herndon Airport in Orlando, Fl.

Bobby said he "lived" every boy's dream, as after discharge from the service he searched for a career that would fulfill him. For a short time he was a fireman in Raleigh, N.C., a policeman, who eventually became the Police Chief in a small town in North Carolina. He also worked as a salesman with Nationwide Insurance Company where he was " Salesman of the Year" several times.

In 1964 the family moved to Orlando, FL . Bobby was employed with Murray Van and Storage where he became vice president. Bobby eventually had his own moving company. While working in this industry, Bobby was involved in many fundraising and community events with the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, and other organizations. His favorite part of working in this industry was having the opportunity to assist many missionary families with their moves overseas and back.. Many of these he met through his beloved Church On The Drive where he and his wife have been members for over 50 years. Bob also served as a Deacon at Church on the Drive in his early years.

Bob was married to the love of his life, Anne Daniel Bunn, for 60 years, and they have 3 children, Michael, Ocala, FL, Cindi (Ken) St. Cloud, FL and Denise (Michael) Francisco, of Orlando, FL., 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Rayford (Clara) of Raleigh, N.C. JoAnn (Allen) Thomason of Wendell, N.C., Janie Baker of Wendell, N.C., Wayne (Pat) Bunn of Raleigh , N.C. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bobby was always ready with a smile and a joke and loved to share stories of his colorful career with his friends and family, especially at Church on the Drive where he loved to visit and hug all of his friends every week. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 12 at Church on the Drive, 1914 Edgewater Drive, Orlando, FL 32804, with visitation at 2:00 and memorial service at 3:00 p.m.
