Bobby Maxwell Watson

January 16, 1932 — March 7, 2014

Bobby M. Watson passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side on Friday, March 7, 2014.

He was born in Columbia, Alabama on January 16, 1932, the son of Coleman Franklin & Gertie Lee Watson. He is predeceased by his wife of 49 ½ years, Susie M. Watson.

He is survived by his daughter; Ava Bergeron & her husband, David of Orlando. Grandchildren include Amanda Zook and her husband, Mickey of Akron, Ohio; Nicholas Bergeron and his wife Brynn of Orlando and Matthew Bergeron of Orlando. Three great-grandchildren, Douglas Zook, Leah Zook, and David "Captain Happy" Zook of Akron, Ohio.

Brothers and sisters include Agnes Bullard (deceased), Jonnie Adams, Jeanette Hicks, Franklin Edwin Watson (deceased), Jan Snider & Jerry Watson (deceased).
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. A niece, Janice Watson Smith and her husband Pete of Suwanee, GA is like a second daughter to him.

Mr. Watson is retired from the US Air Force after twenty years of service. He studied Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and worked for ABC Liquors, Denny's Restaurants and retired from Orange County Public Schools.
Mr. Watson loved his family and sharing memories of how he grew up in Southern Alabama during the depression era. Working hard on the farm and family gatherings were always a topic of these stories. He enjoyed working in his yard, fishing and boating and spending time with his family. Very mechanically inclined, he loved the challenge of building useful gadgets and seeing them put to use.

He was the best Dad, Poppee, Great-Poppee, Uncle & Brother who taught us life lessons we will carry on.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11 from 6-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home on Goldenrod Rd in Orlando, FL. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 12 at 11:00 AM at the Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services following at Chapel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Mr. Watson's memory to Hospice of the Comforter, 496 W. Central Pkwy, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714.
