Brenda Kay Smith

September 1, 1947 — May 27, 2024

Brenda Smith, age 76, of Orlando, FL, passed away peacefully on the night of Sunday, May 26, 2024. She was the beloved mother of her three sons, Jerry, Rush (Kat), and Todd (Mandy). Brenda’s trusted and faithful best friend since childhood is Sharon Spears, truly a sister to Brenda. Brenda is survived by her beloved sons and their respective spouses, her grandson, Braxton, and her cherished and ever-expanding extended family including Sharon Spears, Carol, Ronnie, Howie, Nathan Camnitz, Jeremy Sherman, Tony, Michelle, Lincoln, and Kennedy Roberts, David, Nicole, Ciara, James, and DJ Lokey, Gianni, Courtney, Kaimana, and Kilohana Marienthal.

Brenda is a Boone High School alum, studied and worked in the nursing field before completing her education, earning her master’s degree from Barry University. She shined in her career in graphic design, including serving her country with top secret clearance for Lockheed Martin, a Department of Defense contractor.

Brenda was an avid reader and a history enthusiast. She was a Patriot in spirit, she loved her country and supported our military. She sacrificed for our country as an Army Mom (Jerry – Army Airborne 509th Division) and Army daughter (her father, Dan “PawPaw” Smith – Army), served our country as well as many other extended family members. She had a deep interest in her heritage and explored her ancestry as far back as 15th century roots in Scotland.

Above all, Brenda was an exceptional woman. She faced life’s grueling challenges with a fierce passion and never backed down from any opponent, whether it be a person or a circumstance – she overcame and thrived, against the odds. She redefined strength in a way that inspires many. She was a Beautiful Badass.
