Brian Figaroa

Brian was born October 5, 2006, in Orlando, FL to Carmen and Rodney Figaroa. He was 8 years old. Brian suffered from Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (RDEB), a congenital condition that causes chronic blistering of the skin. In spite of suffering from this painful condition, he was happy at home while he watched his favorite movies and TV cartoons.

Brian loved going out every morning for a stroller walk around the neighborhood. He also loved road trips and stopping at every Mc Donald's he could see on the way.

On September 2011, Brian attended one short week at Deerwood Elementary School. He showed compassion to other children in his class when they cried and liked taking the class role attendance sheet to the front office. The following week, he went into a coma from complications from RDEB, of which he never recovered.
He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on December 31, 2014.

Brian is survived by his mother and father, Carmen Gisela and Rodney Figaroa; his grandparents Carmen and Diego Colon of Orlando, Imelda and Remigio Figaroa of Aruba; uncle Morris Figaroa and wife Jemina Martis of Aruba; aunt Elisa Colon of Puerto Rico; aunt Farah Figaroa and spouse Karl Welch of Aruba; aunt Maria Colon and spouse Miguel Rodriguez of Orlando; cousins Jaques, Jonathan, and Adriana of Puerto Rico; cousins Max, Nathaniel, Noelani and Kai'el of Aruba; cousins Diego and Adrian of Orlando; godfather Emilio Mangual of Orlando and godmother Carmen R Mercado of Miami FL.

Visitation is Tuesday January 6, 2015 from 10am to 12pm with funeral service starting at 12pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home (East Orlando Chapel). Pastor Carl Frazier is officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Orlando, FL.
