Bruce H. David

July 23, 1961 — November 17, 2022

Our dear brother, Bruce David, 61, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Nov. 17th. Son, Grandson, Brother, Uncle, Friend, Best Man and Godfather, Bruce was so many things to so many people throughout his life. Born in Anaheim, CA on July 23, 1961, he lived most of his life in Winter Park, FL. Bruce graduated from North Fort Myers High School where he excelled as a two-way starter on the Red Knights Football team. After high school he attended the University of Central Florida (UCF) graduating with a degree in Journalism. He was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega (ATO) Fraternity and was involved in many campus organizations and activities. After graduation he worked in the media industry for years. He then worked in the Timeshare business, finding his greatest success, earning the prestigious Million Dollar Ring and Top Closer Award with Westgate Resorts. He was a gifted salesperson.

He was a lifelong, die-hard, Green Bay Packers fan. He was a "big-time Cheesehead" Bruce cherished his family and was a wonderful Uncle to all his nieces and nephews. He loved them dearly. Bruce was larger than life and his passion for life was unexcelled. He had many exciting adventures throughout his life – cramming more living into his 61 years than most people do in 90-plus. He traveled throughout Europe and was a member of the USA to Cuba "Strength and Honor" Paddle Expedition in 2000, entering Havana Harbor at a time when very few Americans set foot in Fidel Castro's Cuba.

Bruce's heart was as big as he was. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his family. He played an integral role in helping to raise his niece, Maddie and nephews Max and Miles, when they were younger saying those were the "best years of his life." He also was a care giver to his Mother, Elizabeth Ann, providing daily care for her and helping mightily to allow her to live out the final years of her life in her own home which was her wish.

Bruce was preceded in death by his Father, Don David, a decorated Marine Fighter Pilot in the Pacific during WWII; his Grandmother, Geneva Rupert, his beloved Mother, Elizabeth Ann (his "rock"); Sister, Hildie; brother, Chris and Stepfather, Richard Stewart. He is survived by his brothers, Don (Kathleen); Doug (Sally); Ned (Ellen) and Hank; sisters, Summer and Laura Jane and a slew of nieces, nephews and cousins. His passing has left a huge hole in our hearts. His spirit, his strength, his smile, and his laugh, will live in our hearts forever.

Later in life Bruce dealt with a catastrophic illness and many difficult health issues. He faced his struggles head on and dealt with his hardships with strength, grace, and dignity. During the last few years of his life, Bruce had built a strong relationship with God and his faith. He fought valiantly to overcome his obstacles and put his faith in God to help him through his struggles. His pain was great, and his body was weak. It was time for him to rest and ease his pain and suffering – so God reached out his hand and brought him to his heavenly home to be with all who love him and went before him. He is with them now, in Heaven, where his pain and suffering are nor more. For all of us still on Earth – we will mourn his passing – but remember and celebrate his goodness, kindness, thoughtfulness, determination, and his loving heart. He will be with us, and we will love him, always. We LOVE YOU Bruce.
