The Metamorphosis of a Butterfly
Beauty from Pain
Bryony Paige Simms, born November 27, 1978 lived with grace and vigor until March 29, 2006. I could never state that she lost her battle to cancer, for to say that would signify that she gave in to the mentality that cancer controlled her existence - a farce and a stain that would be on her testimony. Over the course of three years she proved, much to the astonishment and admiration of those that surrounded her, that she lived outright Philippians 4:11-13. She questioned only once the inevitable question of, "Why God," and in the midst of her struggle to break through the cocoon of suffering she realized there was a Light at the end of the tunnel. She boldly stood where many would have crumbled; seized the life God laid before her and recognized there was Beauty from Pain. She touched so many lives with her smile, courage and beauty. She put on the Armor of God and marched steadily with the Lord all the way into His hands. She shed all things earthly, cloaked herself with all things Holy and broke through her cocoon and spread her wings in Glory and Victory. She is survived by all those who knew her as a survivor. I thank everyone who drew his or her Spiritual swords and stood with us on the battlefield - Philippians 1:7 & 4:14; God bless. She will be sorely missed but seen soon. "Life is an adventure," she would tell me and she lived it like one.
