Carlos Antonio Negrón Torres, devoted husband of Raisa, loving father of Enid, Saira and Carmen Raisa. He adored his six grandchildren: Nadya Marie, Austyn Javier, Sean Carlos, Sebastian Jerome, Luca Antonio and Sofia. Also, Armani's great-grandfather. They all called him Papa.
The oldest of seven children, he was born in the cold city of Aibonito, Puerto Rico on August 8, 1944, in the home of Eduarda Torres and Fidel A. Negrón. Predeceased by Roberto and Carmen Iris, he is survived by Juan, Rafa, Oscar (Caco) and Olga.
A man of great perseverance. His sacrifices gave way to stages of his life that are admired by all who know him. He entered the Barranquitas Hospitality School as soon as he graduated from high school. He didn't stop there and entered the US Navy where he was able to obtain a certificate in menu preparation and diets at Monterey Peninsula College. Upon returning to his homeland, he provides services at the Hotel La Concha.
Carlos knew he couldn't stop. He wanted to offer more & with the education opportunity offered by the VA, he entered the Barranquitas Interamerican University in 1971 and in 1974 obtained his bachelor's degree in education. He began his work as a teacher in Aibonito but did not stop and in 1981 he obtained his master's degree in Administration and Supervision and was appointed school principal in Aibonito.
Carlos loved long weeks at the beach with Raisa, and his favorite memories were of the beach vacations. He was a lifelong fan of baseball and football. He knew the name of every player in the teams especially the Patriots & Steelers.
Teacher, principal, deputy superintendent and community leader but above all a good Puerto Rican and tremendous cook! Which is why he became the 'family chef'.
Mr. Negrón/Carlos/Papi/Papa...will always be remembered with love and gratitude for his big heart.
Let's celebrate his life!
