Carmella Commisso Britton, age 96, of Orlando, FL passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021.
She was the daughter of Nicholas Commisso and mother Elizabeth LaFrieda who came from Naples Italy to New Jersey.
Carmella came from a strong working Italian Catholic family. She was predeceased by her brothers Joe, Johnny, Dominic, Tony, and sisters Gloria (Muttsy), Libby, Susie, and Ruth
She spent her early years in Riverside New Jersey where she waitressed at a local diner and was affectionately known as "Cab" as her nickname.
She had her daughter Diane with her late husband Allen Tighe, and later moved to California and Florida marrying her husband of over 50 years Arthur Britton. Settling in to Florida having their son together Wayne.
She also cared for Arthur's children from a previous marriage two, in particular, were very near and dear to her Arlene and Joanne.
Her grandchildren are Deanna Lynn, Michael Britton, Stacy Kane, Richard Kane, Justin Britton, Jessica Britton, Thomas O'Toole, and Casey O'Toole, who she adored and had wonderful memories and adventures.
Carmella was blessed to have so many beautiful great-grandsons and granddaughters who were able enjoy her and experience her zest of living life! Even as a great grandmother she never slowed down loved going to all the theme parks Malls and many adventures with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren!
Some of her favorite things to do were to play bingo feeding all of her family she knew that food would always bring everyone together and she always gave you really big plate to keep you longer and if you didn't finish she always had her signature saying
EAT IT!
She always took a lot of pride in her front yard and her flowerbeds.
She enjoyed going to the beach and laying out in the sun as well as a good deal of shopping.
We want to give special thanks to her caretakers at Advent Health care especially for always brightening her day and getting us all through Covid with FaceTime calls.
Carmella made A large impact on everyone she touched carrying on many stories and memories for a lifetime.
Visitation is Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with memorial service starting at 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (Winter Park Chapel).
