Carmen Luz Torres Sierra disfrutó de sus últimos minutos en esta tierra hasta el pasado martes, 30 de abril de 2024. A las 2:22 p.m., partió de este mundo, tranquilamente, por causas naturales.

Pasó esos últimos instantes tal y como disfrutó de muchos sus momentos, en una habitación rodeada de familiares y amigos.

Carmen Luz nació el 6 de septiembre de 1928 en Corozal, Puerto Rico, lugar donde se crió. Esta mujer vivió experiencias en sus 95 años, de las cuales la mayoría de nosotros solo conocemos por haberlas leído.

Durante su niñez y sus años de juventud vivió en el pueblo montañoso que la vio crecer hasta que conoció y se casó con Aníbal Centeno, un empresario que tenía un pequeño negocio. Procrearon dos hijos, José Aníbal y Migdalia. Su matrimonio duró 18 años pues Aníbal, lamentablemente, falleció a sus 38 años. Pese a su viudez, Carmen Luz enfrentó la vida valientemente y, no solo crió a sus hijos, sino que hizo prosperar el negocio familiar.

Carmen Luz, además de madre, se convirtió en abuela de 6 nietos y bisabuela de 8 increíbles niños.

Además de su amado Aníbal, a Carmen Luz le precedieron sus padres Florentino Torres y Engracia Sierra, así como sus hermanos Angélica, María, Marce, Josefina, Alicia, Genarín, Pepito y Paco.

A ella le encantaba disfrutar de su tiempo libre en reuniones familiares, invitando amigos a cenar y o en maratónicas sesiones de dominó. Además, durante sus años de adultez se dedicó a servir en la iglesia, ya fuera colaborando en cenas, recaudando de fondos o en cualquier tarea que la necesitaran.

Extrañaremos verla cocinar, mantenerse activa y fuerte, y su constante fe. Siempre será esa roca de la familia y una fuente de amor en su ausencia. Su impacto en nosotros jamás será olvidado.

It was a Beautiful Afternoon on April 30th, 2024, at 2:22pm, Carmen Luz Torres Sierra spent her last moments on this earth as She Peacefully Passed of Natural Causes. She spent those moments just how she liked to spend a lot of previous ones before, in a room full of family and friends.

Carmen Luz was Born and raised in the mountain town of Corozal, Puerto Rico on September 6th, 1928, YES 1928! This Woman has lived through events most of us only read about in the 95 years she spent on this earth. In her early years, she went on and Graduated High School in that same town before meeting and marrying her husband and small business owner Anibal Centeno. Their marriage lasted nearly 18 years before he sadly passed away at the young age of 38. However, before she was widowed, she gave birth to 2 loving Children, Jose Anibal Centeno and Migdalia Centeno. Carmen bravely and successfully continued to operate the family business while raising her 2 children for years to come until those children started families of their own. Through them Carmen became a loving Grandmother of 6 grandchildren and those grandchildren made Carmen the Great Grandmother of 8 Amazing Grandkids.
Carmen is preceded in death by Her Husband Anibal, Her Parents Florentino Torres and Engracia Sierra as well as all 8 of her Siblings. Which include Sisters Angelica, Maria, Marce, Josefina, and Alicia, Her Brothers Jenarin, Pepito and Paco.
In Life, she loved spending her time at family functions, having friends over for dinners and all-night domino sessions. She would spend most of her empty nest years at the local churches, helping out with dinners, fundraisers or whatever the need was at the time. I'd sad her home cooking, staying active and strong faith attributed to her longevity.
