Carmine Maffettone

Carmine Maffettone, age 80, of Winter Park, Florida passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Mayflower Health and Rehabilitation in Winter Park.

Carmine was born on September 29, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Louis and Frances (Messina) Maffettone. From 1960 to 1962, he honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army. On November 9, 1963, he married the former Gerry Caravella. Carmine was a longtime letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Long Island, NY before he transferred to Central Florida where he eventually retired.

Carmine is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gerry Maffettone of Winter Park; his three daughters, Anne Piazzola and her husband, Sam, of Oviedo, Patricia Maffettone of Lake Mary, and Brenda Howard and her companion, Paul Kunz, of Orlando; two grandchildren, Annemarie Piazzola, and Nicholas Piazzola; a great-grandchild, Lennox Roach; his brother, Louis Maffettone, Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Wantagh, NY; and two sisters, Anna Russo of Hempstead, NY, and Rosemary Carbone of Bellmore, NY.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Ben Maffettone.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 10:30 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 5300 Old Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 2 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Winter Park Chapel, 3806 Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park.
